NABLEO 2024 National Conference

Presented By:
Wednesday, October 09,2024 starting at 08:00A
Marriott Buffalo Niagara Hotel
1340 Millersport Hwy
Amherst, NY

As the law enforcement profession continues to evolve amidst constant and intense public scrutiny, we must recognize that the perceptions held of the few are, unfortunately, instantly transposed to the many. In our efforts to improve trust and build positive relationships with those that we serve, we must realize that the calls for accountability and transparency are legitimate and can only be answered through an honest assessment of our organizational goals, philosophies, and culture. Thus, the convergence of police professionalization and police culture must be a recurrent theme in how we conduct our encounters with those we serve. We must continually remember that it is only through our partnerships with the communities we serve that true and equal justice for all will be obtained, recognizing that all members of the community, regardless of their human failures, attitudes and perceptions of our profession, deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.

To this end, the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers (NABLEO) is pleased to present a three-day training conference themed “Police Reform: Re-Building Community Trust and Confidence”, at the Marriott Buffalo Niagara Hotel, 1340 Millersport Hwy, Amherst, NY 14221, October 9-October 11, 2024. This three-day training conference will involve the acquisition of effective communication and active listening skills, as well as other community-policing related techniques, designed to enhance and improve the relationships between community members and their law enforcement guardians.

Featured workshops will present topics of interest to both law enforcement personnel and their community partners that have been designed to provide law enforcement officers with greater tools, knowledge, and skills for interacting with people, particularly in communities of color, and allow them to build operative and reciprocal bridges of understanding between police departments and communities to create sustainable impact models of positive policing . Full workshop descriptions and presenter information are available at http://conference.nableo.org. All conference-related sessions begin at 8:00 AM each day of the conference.
